Alan Wake is a psychological action thriller, a unique new take in the world of gaming. The game is set in an idyllic all-American small town and its surroundings in the state of Washington. Alan Wake, the game's protagonist, is a bestselling horror writer, who writes a novel about his darkest nightmares. In the game, those nightmares come true. As with Remedy's previous games, story and atmosphere are fundamental elements.

Coming from the creators of May Payne is an all-new psychological thriller...


When rumours first began to circle that Remedy Entertainment wouldn't be working on Max Payne 3, the natural suggestion was that the Finish based developer had once again turned to creating an original concept to leave Take-Two focussing on the return of Max.That certainly appears to be the case as Remedy today took the wraps from Alan Wake; billed as a "psychological thriller" for next-gen formats and the PC. Naturally its early days yet, however the game is expected to make a full-scale appearance at E3.

This game won't be released until either Microsoft sort out performance issues on Windows Vista, or the next generation of DX10 video card comes out. Hopefully MSGS has learnt something from the less than satisfactory FSX.

I really hope that it can live up to his works, as they have defined a bar of sorts to this kind of atmosphere.
