Electronic Arts announce record breaking sales of The Sims 2…
EA has confirmed that The Sims 2 has given them their biggest ever PC launch in their 22-year history. Within the first 10 days since the game was first released, it has gone on to sell more than 1 million copies worldwide.
Announcing the record breaking news, Frank Gibeau, EAâs Senior Vice President of Marketing said that, âThe Sims franchise has become a cultural phenomenon and The Sims 2 is a game that changes the way we think about our industryâ¦The game has sold one million units worldwide in its first ten days at retail -- more than fifty percent of those games were sold in Europe."
EA will be hoping for similar success later on this year when the Sims hit the big city in The Urbz, to be released later on this year on PlayStation2, Xbox, Nintendo DS, GameBoy Advance, and the GameCube.
