Let's Get Ready To Rumble (again) as 10tacle Studios confirms a third chapter in Midway's former series...
Ready 2 Rumble boxing and its 2000 sequel were rare sources of fun, in a Midway line-up that traditionally lacked entertainment. Now it seems Afro Thunder and the crew are set to make a comeback, with confirmation that 10tacle Studios are working on a third title in the series. Currently under the guise of 10tacle's Singapore subsidiary, along with licensor The Buffer Partnership and executive producer Stereo Mode, the game will be developed by AKI Corporation who've previously worked on titles in the Def Jam and WWF Wrestlemania series.
10tacle Studios AG CEO Michele Pes explains: "With the release of "Ready 2 Rumble" 10TACLE STUDIOS AG is focusing on one of the major game brands in the market. The family-friendly, humorous realisation of the boxing sport is unique and an ideal supplement to our product portfolio."

Early information suggests that the diverse cast of characters from the original could be replaced with "caricatures of numerous celebrities" taking it to the ring, though Michael Buffer's timeless "Let's Get Ready To Rumble" phrase should still make a return.
The title is currently underway for various unspecified platforms, whilst 10tacle expects turnover to exceed $20 million by 2010; suggesting that a release is still some way off.
