Rare Looks At Christmas' Past & Future News

Festive artwork from the UK development studio teases out the Christmas spirit...
As everybody settles into the festive spirit of eating and drinking too much, Britsoft studio Rare has kept up its tradition of sending some Christmas artwork through the ether of email and the Net.
Although it's not quite as earth-shattering as the infamous e-card of 2001 that teased at Rare's departure as a second-party developer for Nintendo, the picture of Hudson Horstachio and some of his Pinata friends sharing a fire with Banjo and Kazooie nonetheless throws in some interesting titbits...
For instance, why is there a stocking with the lettering "KI3" stitched into it? Could Rare be secretly working on the long-awaited Killer Instinct 3...or is it a cruel tease? What about the obscured stocking behind Hudson's head? And what exactly is the present Banjo is holding in his hands?
Aside from an Xbox 360 tied in a ribbon by the side of the fire, there aren't any other consoles in the image - so at least it doesn't look like Rare is heading off down the same path as Bungie.
