id Software confirms that the upcoming Enemy Territory title won't only feature on PC...

Already confirmed for PC, id Software's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars has today been announced for Xbox 360 and PlayStation3. Having brought Castle Wolfenstein to the original Xbox in 2003, and Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil to both PC and Xbox, Nerve Software is responsible for bringing Quake Wars to Xbox 360, whilst X-Men: The Official Game developer Z-Axis will focus on the PlayStation 3 version.

Confirming Quake Wars for the two next-gen consoles, Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software said: "We're pleased to be working with Nerve and Z-Axis to bring the highly-anticipated gameplay from Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars to the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system."

Taking place during the initial wars between the Global Defence Force (GDF) and Strogg, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars on Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 will feature Multiplayer action for up to 16-players, down from the 24-player arenas confirmed for the PC version back in E3 2006.

Splash Damage is currently developing the PC version of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and is yet to receive a release period.
