Playing as Amitie, encounter many weird and wonderful characters as you progress through the games challenging, yet fun Story Mode. SEGA has revamped its signature brainteaser with wacky new puzzle pieces and a combo-crazy Fever Mode. Your goal, of course, is to match up Puyos of the same colour. Players will try to obliterate opponents by linking explosive combinations, and bombarding them with massive chain reaction combo attacks with Fever Mode.

Ignition announces handheld versions of SEGA's puzzle title...


Ignition has today announced that it's to publish the PSP and Nintendo DS versions of SEGA's Puyo Pop Fever, which originally arrived on GameBoy Advance in March 2005 courtesy of THQ.

As well as bringing the puzzler to the two handhelds with a number of modes including a Story Mode, 'Fever' Mode, and a multiplayer mode, each of the two systems will have their unique features; the PSP version will have voice-over narration during the tutorial section, whilst the DS version will include 8-player single-card download and touch-screen functionality.

Making the announcement Peter Rollinson, Product Manager, Ignition Entertainment said "Puyo Pop Fever is perfectly suited to the PSP & DS...The game oozes with addictive gameplay and has a style which will appeal to young and old alike."

Puyo Pop Fever on PSP and Nintendo DS will be released later this month; we'll have more news shortly...
