Pro Evolution Soccer 4 Announced - Xbox Confirmed News

Konami confirm first details on Pro Evo Soccer 4, Xbox version confirmed...

This is what weâve been waiting for, as Konami today officially lifted the lid on Pro Evolution Soccer 4, the latest title in the critically acclaimed footballs series.

Perhaps the biggest news is that Pro Evolution Soccer 4 will be released on Playstation2, PC DVD and Xbox â“ yes you read that correctly, finally we have official confirmation that Pro Evo will be reaching hordes of Microsoft fans.

Developed by the legendary Shingo âSeabassâ Takatsuka and his team of footballing experts at Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo, Pro Evolution Soccer 4 features a wealth of improvements such as new moves and tricks that flow fluidly with the fast pace action, new free kick and penalty techniques, whilst an innovative indirect free kick move has also been implemented to add further variety to set pieces.

Much like Winning Eleven 8, Pro Evolution Soccer 4 increases the level of realism by featuring more individuality for players in the way they run; move both on and off the ball and how they control it. The team have been busy ramping up playersâ attributes which govern every aspect of their play, such as how well players can bring a high or fast ball under control, hit it first time past an approaching defender or flick the ball on to a team mate. Konami assure us that the sublime control system that has become synonymous with the series has once again moved closer to the real thing.

Pro Evolution Soccer 4 introduces a new dribbling system, granting players more control as they attempt one-on-one situations, whilst crosses and cut-back passes can now be made with far more precision.

As we suggested in our earlier look at Winning Eleven 8, the game will include a visible referee for the first time in the series, who will step in to calm down tempers when the action gets heated and playing advantage for minor infringements. In addition the game will feature an increase in the number of domestic and international teams available to choose from, whilst the Master League mode has been significantly increased. A new âMy Best Elevenâ feature allows players to save their greatest teams for whipping your friends, whilst players can now suffer severe injuries and be forced to retire from the Master League.

With online play ruled out of Winning Eleven 8 we very much doubt that this will figure in Pro Evolution Soccer 4, although no official comment has been made at this stage â“ câmon Konami we want Pro Evo on Xbox Live!

Pro Evolution Soccer 4 is scheduled for release later in the year; weâll have lots more on this title soon â“ we promise.
