Xbox Live Arcade set to have an Arabian Night or two with an update to the 1989 platform classic...
A notoriously tough game back in 1989, Xbox 360 gamers will soon be able to go back and experience an updated version of the original Prince of Persia, which is coming to Xbox Live Arcade during the summer.
Announced by Ubisoft along with a trailer that shows off the title's new visuals, Prince of Persia Classic is based on Jordan Mechner's original, which utilised rotoscoping techniques to produce incredibly fluid animations for the time.
Heavily based on the 18-year old game, Prince of Persia Classic's developers (the mobile phone studio GameLoft) have also added additional traps, enemies, and puzzles, though judging from the trailer PoP Classic looks set to introduce - or re-introduce - gamers to the challenge of rescuing the princess from the evil Jaffar.
The game will be the first Xbox Live Arcade title wholly published by Ubisoft, following the co-publication of the 1989 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Game with Konami in March.
