Playstation Experience 2004 Confirmed News

By Chris Leyton on 13/08/2004 The UK’s leading theme park, Alton Towers, is set to host this year’s Playstation Experience event…

Having become a rip-roaring success at Earls Court last year, Sony Computer Entertainment UK today announced that it has partnered with Alton Towers to bring the Playstation Experience 2004 to the UK’s leading theme park.

During September Alton Towers will host a week of gaming activities around the park with the opportunity to try out upcoming Playstation2 titles and win some prizes.

The climax of the week will see PlayStation guests and competition winners having VIP access to the Alton Towers Park on Thursday 23rd September including priority access to the UK’s biggest and best rides and exclusive access to the PlayStation Gaming Areas where they can sample the latest gaming products.

The highlight of the PlayStation Experience will be exclusive music artist performances set amidst the theme parks’ most exciting rides. Competition winners will be thrilled not only by the rides, but also from the experience of racing over the heads of the artists whilst they perform their latest chart hits.

The evening will close with a multi artist finale of performances staged against the famous Alton Towers castle walls. Winners and artistes will then mingle at an after show party to be held in the sumptuous Stateroom adjacent to the Alton Towers Hotel, followed by overnight accommodation.

Major promotions with key media partners will provide the opportunity to win tickets to the PlayStation Experience and communicate the benefits of the event itself.

Alan Duncan, Marketing Director for SCE UK said “The PlayStation Experience at Alton Towers reflects both our commitment to the evolution of sampling events and to creating original broadcast content which communicates the values of PlayStation to new and existing audiences.”

Mike Lorimer, Marketing Manager for Alton Towers said “We are very excited to be hosting this event. Not only will it showcase our fantastic rides and attractions to a key audience on TV, but it will also allow every one of our guests access to some fabulous added experiences in the Sony PlayStation areas.”
