PlayStation3 Turns to Blu-Ray News

As the new PS2 is announced, Sony confirms that its next-generation machine will use the Blu-Ray format…


Continuing a day of announcements from Sony, itās been confirmed that the PlayStation3 will utilise the breakthrough Blu-Ray technology. Continuing the development of high-density disks, Blu-Ray allows up to 54 GB of data to be stored (dual-layer, single side), 6 times more than on a DVD.

Although the format has yet to be fully standardised by the Blu-Ray Disc Association (BDA), it can be argued that the adoption of the format by Sony will help to establish the technology, much in the same way that the PS2 helped progress the DVD format.

It's Final Fantasy VII sequel. That date is the same time as scheduled Square Enix DKS3713 August 2nd/3rd.

this a good thing over 9 yrs it will happen folk wiil soon tire of wii's and the xbox(which is nearly all shooters, fun 4 a while, but ps3 does more in all ways
