Well it could be called that, but then again we’re left even more clueless then before...
Having briefly revealed Phantasy Star Universe at E3â04 as the continuation of Sonic Teamâs popular online series, SEGA has been silent on the subject ever since... that is until today.
Speaking within the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, a SEGA representative provided the first specific details although remained cryptically quiet on a number of important aspects.
Firstly the game is confirmed as being multi-format, although only the Playstation2 and PC versions were talked about during the article. Of more intrigue is the fact that âonlineâ was not mentioned at all during the entire piece, and left doubt as to exactly what form Phantasy Star Universe will end up shaping into.
The bulk of the article focussed on the storyline behind Phantasy Star Universe, which tells of a cataclysmic war that took place over a century ago and left the solar system peaceful. That peace however is threatened by an invasion of an alien race known as The Seed. In order to protect the three planets and their colonies, the âGuardiansâ was established and enlisted highly-skilled, young warriors. Amongst these soldiers is Ethan Weber a 17 year old man who has become a master of the laser sabre, and Karen Era, a young woman who is deadly with blades.
Weâre hoping that SEGA will blow open the floodgates soon, as this latest information has left us muddling around bewilderment to say the least; weâll have further information soon.
