Patched PS3 Update Due For Release News

Sony Customer Service reveals that firmware version 2.41 should be out this week; SCEE yet to confirm reports...
Following last week's removal of the long-awaited v2.40 firmware for PlayStation 3 after reports of 'bricking' amongst some owners, SCE is apparently preparing to launch a patched edition, 2.41, later this week.
Reports of the impending release emerged from CVG, which was advised of the update from Sony's own customer support. SCEE is yet to confirm when the new firmware will launch.
Released last Wednesday, version 2.40 of the PlayStation 3 firmware brought several new features to the console, including the highly desired in-game XMB, and a Trophy system, but was removed within a day after reports of XMB crashes and bricking appeared on the web.
