SCEJ President confirms PS2 and PSP connectivity features set to usher in new concepts of gaming…
Speaking to the Mainichi Daily, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) President, Fumiya Takeno, today ended months of speculation with the confirmation that the PSP would link-up with the PlayStation2 and the PSX Home Entertainment unit.
Confirming recent rumours that games could be transferred between the three platforms, Takeno-san claimed "the PS2 in one room, the PSX in another, and the PSP outside the home. The same game can be played by the gamer depending on where you are. This is how playing and designing a game will change."
Whilst weâve still got doubts as to how the public will embrace the all-new UMD data storage for the PSP, considering that DVD has just become a standard, Takeno-san revealed his companyâs bold vision for the format; declaring that it will create a new synergy between games, music, film and tantalisingly claiming "Iâm planning to create software that no one is even thinking of right now. Something free from the existing concept of 'a game,'"
Weâll have more details soon.
