Criterion confirms that its successful middleware engine has been brought across to the Sony handheld…
UK based Criterion Software today confirmed that it has brought the entire suite of RenderWare tools to the forthcoming Sony PSP.
Powering a wide number of games, RenderWare has been used to fantastic effect in the likes of GTA3, Vice City, and Sonic Heroes to mention but a few; naturally this suggests that ports of home console titles shouldnât be a problem in the future.
David Lau-Kee, Criterion's CEO comments, "PSPTM is a truly revolutionary platform , and it has been a pleasure to work on it. Demand from RenderWare users for support for PSPTM has been phenomenal, and we're looking forward to delivering the full RenderWare toolchain for PSPTM to them. RenderWare has long provided the underlying power behind many AAA videogames, and in an increasingly high-stakes world, is a brand that people know and trust to deliver. Producing RenderWare for PSPTM reinforces Criterion's commitment to empowering the publisher and developer communities with open, flexible and future-proofed production solutions."
Weâll have more information soon.
