New details on Sony’s PSP emerge from the Playstation Meeting 2004…

During the recent âPlaystation Meeting 2004â in which Sony confirmed the appearance of the Playstation3 at E3â05, the company also revealed a few interesting details on the PSP.

Confirmation came that up to 16 players will be able to connected via the wireless LAN setup, whilst the manufacturing costs associated with the UMD format stand at a highly reasonable 250 yen (£1.28/1.86 euros/$2.31), which compared to the costs for manufacturing DVDs should please the publishers.

Finally Sony presented a list of titles currently in development, confirming that the number of signed on publishers has risen from 34 to 59 since E3.

Despite the event geared to generate interest within the PSP, the general opinion amongst the leading Japanese developers and publishers is one of caution and concern that specific details on the format have still yet to be released from Sony.

lol an 80 gb psp is not possible unless they use ssd hard drives which cost sh*t loads to buy independantly maybe you should get used to dreaming, though if they stop making any games for it or make a psp that could only get games from the ps3 then y... [ Read full comment... ]

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

good point but i think i would only pay about $250 and not bother with the touch screen.with mobile tec in there you could play games over the net any time any where but only at a reasonable price of course.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be
