Havok confirm plans to bring real-time physics engine to the PSP…
Havok today announced that it will be porting its Havok physics engine to the forthcoming PSP; giving further indication of the sheer level of power set to feature in the format.
Used in a variety of games such as Half-Life 2 and Max Payne 2 to mention but a couple, this certainly bodes well for PSP titles and adaptations alongside the recent RenderWare announcement.
Dr. Steven Collins, Chief Technology Officer Havok, claimed "PSPTM is an incredibly exciting platform for Havok. It will be great to port to PSPTM which has the power to leverage Havok's collision detection and game dynamics products. Our experience of delivering solutions on existing game consoles, including Playstation®2 computer entertainment system, gives us confidence that we will soon be providing a really compelling solution for game title developers on this new platform."
