Bristol based company reveals that its tool suite was used to develop 20 of the 24 PSP launch titles in the US...
Its not often that we Brits stand up and, to use a somewhat British term, âBlow our own trumpets,â but today Bristol based SN Systems have done just that â“ and rightly so. The company has revealed that their ProDG tool suite has been used in the development of twenty of the twenty-four PSP launch titles when the system is released in March.
Discussing the suite, Andy Beveridge, Director and Co-Founder of SN Systems commented, "We're naturally very pleased to have such a strong following in the development community. At SN Systems we continually strive to create tools that allow game developers to concentrate on creativity instead of production issues." He continued, "We're continually looking to create the best possible tools and constantly talk to developers to find ways to make their jobs easier."
Matt Wilkinson, Director of Technology at Activision said, "Powerful features such as multiple module support allows for easy debugging of dynamically loaded code, and the dead code and data stripping has saved us considerable space on a limited memory handheld. This, combined with the new debugger UI, has proven ProDG to be a very powerful development solution for the âPSPâ."
The ProDG tool suite includes the SNC C/C++ Compiler, which the PSP developers have been utilising because of itâs been designed specifically for console architecture resulting in smaller and faster code.
Weâll have more shortly...
