PSP Attracts Heavy Content News

Thousands of hours of animation and live-actions shorts available free-of-charge to PSP owners...

Heavy.com, a leading broadband network, today announced that it has become the first partner chosen by Sony Corp to deliver content for the PSP.

Thousands of hours of animation and live-action video shorts will be available for free download via the PSP, beginning today with six episodes of Heavyâs celebrated action-sports series, Blisster. Episodes of the series and other programs are currently being packaged to download on PCâs and synched with the PSP â“ with the entire process taking less than five minutes!

In the coming weeks, Heavy will introduce more than 40 hours of original programming spanning various Heavy channels, free for download to PSP owners. Understandably the content will be supported via advertising, with Heavyâs first partner being Unilever's Axe brand, which will offer episodes of its branded content series "Evan and Gareth" on Heavy.com for PSP downloads.

"We are very excited to be the first mover in the hottest content platform available today," said David Carson, Co-CEO of Heavy.com. "Sony recognized that our unique and signature content was ideal to reach its target demographic of 18-34 year old men and to showcase the PSP's non-gaming capabilities. We're thrilled to be the first broadband network to 'PSP-cast' our programming. The response thus far to our downloads has been massive."

Itâs not the first time that Heavy have teamed up with Sony, having previously worked together on the Machinima series to promote God of War throughout North America.

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be
the same size as the Orignal psp but with a hard drive! get the word out maybe they will he... [ Read full comment... ]

JAZZ-1991, what the hell are you talking about? The PSP redesign is 19% slimmer and 33% lighter than the original PSP. The buttons are more responsive, it supports tv out, has twice the RAM. There is no need to make it any smaller, it feels great in ... [ Read full comment... ]
