First selection of screens from the latest title in the popular online RPG series...
After yesterdayâs announcement weâve managed to locate the first screens from Phantasy Star Online III: C.A.R.D Revolution, the latest chapter in the revolutionary online RPG series heading to the GameCube.
Caught up in the initial hysteria, we suggested that the game might make use of the GameCube e-Card Reader, currently unavailable in Europe. As new details have come to light, it appears that the Card system refers to a change in the combat system; switching from the hack ânâ slash nature of the first two titles, it now appears Sonic Team have favoured a Card battle system that is very popular in the Far East and used to good effect in the likes of âLost Kingdomsâ.
Naturally linking up with the e-Card Reader could open up new areas for Phantasy Star Online, so weâre hoping Sonic Team keep this in mind and Nintendo finally releases the peripheral over here.
Weâll be taking a close eye on this one at E3, until then make sure to check out the first screensâ¦
