Microsoft announce specific details on Phantasy Star Online; $8.95 a month you say!!!
Microsoft today announced plans to release Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II in the US, and confirmed that gamers will have to pay an additional fee to play the game.
Scheduled for release in March, gamers will have to pick up a Hunterâs License costing $8.95 per month if they wish to play online after the trial two months.
From what we can gather Sega are running the game from their own servers; the guys at easyaddiction recently highlighted us to the problems trying to run the Japanese copy of PSO, because you need to enter billing details registered to a Japanese address.
It doesnât take a degree in Mathematics to realise that a year playing PSO will cost American gamers $107.40, on top of the annual subscription to Xbox Live! which costs $49.99 and the cost of the game $49.99; it appears that Sega have priced a classic out of the reach of most gamers.
Neither Microsoft or Sega have yet to make an announcement regarding the European release, however weâd bet our granny and her carpet slippers that a similar scheme will be used here.
