Could Sony solve their backwards compatibility issues by copying Microsoft's move...


Although it seems it's only the hardcore gamers that are up in arms about the lack of PS2 backwards compatibility on the 40GB PS3, it seems that there could be a glimmer of hope with an 'Xbox Originals' setup.

In an interview featured in the latest issue of EGM, PlayStation Network director Eric Lempel claims, "We haven't talked about that yet, but there are possibilities through technology and software emulation to make that possible."

As many have already pointed out, spending a few quid for games you already own on the PS2 doesn't sound particularly appealing to us. Why Sony can't just offer the software emulator as a download is beyond us, but hey what do we know, presumably it's much more complicated than what it actually sounds?

very cool as in dead and yes sony admitted the new firmware can potentially kill a ps3 if the download leaps from 50% to 100% instead of ie 51%52%53% ect

i wouldnt even take 360 if given free.coz i wud buuy all the game and it wud break from over heating.so its useless until u are idiot to buy 360 after its constant breaking and lack of good games.

actually its a post to do with ps3 (no specific subject) so why even bring the 360 into it.
there is a page for the 360 and for the wii, why cant people go multi format.
