Sony President announces that PS3 prices will remain the same in Europe and Asia...


Sony President Ryoji Chubachi has said that there are no plans to cut the price of the PlayStation 3 in Asia or Europe "at this point," according to a report from Bloomberg. These latest comments by Chubachi come just one day after Microsoft speculated that they expect Sony to release a slimmed-down PS3 model at $399 in the US.

Chubachi made these comments in Japan today, adding with respect to PS3 price cuts that: "About the future, no comment." Chubachi made similar statements about PS3 price cuts at the beginning of July. However, three days later US PS3s were reduced by $100 to $499.

Forecasts made by Sony yesterday predict sales of 11 million PS3 units by the end of the current fiscal year (March 31st 2008). Nintendo, on the other hand, have made forecasts of 16.5 million unit sales of their Wii console (which is currently outselling the PS3 by 2:1 in the US and 3:1 in Japan) by March 31st next year.

lol anyone up for £55 of content on the £355 160gb ps3 (and i thought the ps3 was supposed to be future proof with this news obviously not as this case has proved)though knowing sony the actual uk price will more than likely be higher pro... [ Read full comment... ]

Why do people say its ffVII sequel!!! If you read the initial story it says it has nothing to do with ffV11 and its not an RPG!! Chances are there is no big announcement and it was a big joke!!
