Comments from leading Sony executive suggest that the PS3 will support the new DVD technology…


One of the most consistent rumours regarding the Playstation3 was today boosted with comments from Kiyoshi Nishitani Vice-President Sony Broadband Network Company, suggesting that the format will support the forthcoming Blu-Ray DVD standard.

Sony has pioneered the Blu-Ray format, capable of storing an impressive 27GB of data on one disc; whilst this canât be taken as confirmation just of yet, Blu-Ray will be introduced to the market in 2006 â“ just in time for the PS3.
