Sony's Ken Kutaragi makes claims that the PlayStation3 will at least match sales of the PS2...


Speaking at Sony's Annual Shareholders Meeting in Japan, the 'Father of PlayStation' Ken Kutaragi has made claims that life-cycle sales of the PlayStation3 could reach 100 million units, matching similar figures for PlayStation2, according to global news outlet AFX News.

His comments come as Sony boss Sir Howard Stringer tried to win over shareholders at the meeting, with many unhappy at the way the company's shares have dropped by 50% since 2001.

So after claims that PlayStation3 is a computer (something that according to the EU, the PlayStation2 is not), that it doesn't matter that GTAIV won't be an exclusive for the next-gen machine, and that it will cost at least £120 more than Xbox 360, it seems that Kutaragi-san is still hyper-confident of massive success in the future.

It's Final Fantasy VII sequel. That date is the same time as scheduled Square Enix DKS3713 August 2nd/3rd.

this a good thing over 9 yrs it will happen folk wiil soon tire of wii's and the xbox(which is nearly all shooters, fun 4 a while, but ps3 does more in all ways
