SCEI announce total shipments of the Playstation2 past the 50 million mark...


SCEI today announced that it has passed the 50million mark of factory shipments of the Playstation2.

The breakdown of shipments by region is:

PlayStation 2 Cumulative Shipments by Territory (15/01/03)


  • Europe/PAL  -  16.02 million units
  • North America  -   21.48 million units
  • Japan  - 12.53 million units
Worldwide Shipments: 50.03 million units

This is their peak because of MGS4, Halo 3 did the same thing but in much larger numbers. 360 has a sick holiday lineup and they will cut the price by a hundred bucks. Then theres the new Xbox Live with Netflix and possibly a FREE Xbox Live by then... [ Read full comment... ]
