SCEA confirm a release date and price-point for the Playstation2 HDD...
Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has finally got round to announcing plans to release the Playsytation2 Hard-Drive in America.
The 40GB HDD will be available in March 2004 for $99.99 and will come pre-loaded with Square-Enix MMORPG âFinal Fantasy XIâ. To play the title after the games initial free 30-day period, players will need to pay a fee of $12.95 per month.
The HDD also allows gamers to store MP3âs ripped from a CD and view digital photos with an in-built photo manager.
Currently Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) have made no announcement regarding the release of the HDD in Europe or the state of âFinal Fantasy XIâ; to be honest weâd be very surprised to see either of them getting a release, however weâll keep you posted with more information if any comes to light.
