One Million PSP Slims Sold In Japan News

Sony Computer Entertainment announces that the new look handheld has gone platinum in the Far East territory...

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has today confirmed that the number of PSP 'Slims & Lite' units sold in the territory has topped one million since it launched on September 22nd 2007.

The handheld, which also arrived across North America and Europe in September, first debuted in Japan as part of a limited edition of 77,777 units to coincide with Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, though they were not taken into consideration with today's released figures. In comparison, sales of Nintendo DS lite took around four weeks to reach 580,000 units, and continue to selling by the bucket loads every week.

PSP Slim & Lite is currently retailing for £129.99 in the UK.

lol an 80 gb psp is not possible unless they use ssd hard drives which cost sh*t loads to buy independantly maybe you should get used to dreaming, though if they stop making any games for it or make a psp that could only get games from the ps3 then y... [ Read full comment... ]

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

good point but i think i would only pay about $250 and not bother with the touch screen.with mobile tec in there you could play games over the net any time any where but only at a reasonable price of course.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be
