Sierra Entertainment finally confirms that Massive's RTS will be heading to Xbox 360 this autumn courtesy of Swordfish Studio...


The countdown to the September release of World in Conflict on PC is already ticking, but Sierra Entertainment has today confirmed that the rumours and sightings were true: the RTS is coming to Xbox 360 too.

Pencilled in for release this autumn, World in Conflict is currently in development at Sierra's Swordfish Studio, with additional functional changes being made to the HUD to cater for the jump to console.

"World in Conflict is the natural fit for Xbox 360, as it effectively blurs the lines between strategy, action and first-person shooter, making controlling units and issuing orders quick and easy on the console controller," said Al Simone, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, Sierra Entertainment.

"With the game coming to Xbox 360, next-generation console gamers will be able to enjoy the next-generation of strategy games. Fans of action games and strategy fanatics alike will find that World in Conflict's unique gameplay and advanced multiplayer combat will provide a fresh game experience not yet available on consoles."

im glad its coming to 360. i played this game on my Vista Core 2 Duo T5300 2GB RAM nVIDIA 7600-256 and after initial tutorial and mission 1 the game began to bring my system to its knees!! Amen to 360.

Are you serious? The graphics are better on a console?? If you believe that you have been living in the dark your whole life. The nature of the PC, is that it is continuously updated, as opposed to a console, which is updated every 3 years or so. Th... [ Read full comment... ]

But the graphics are better on consoles, since they are built for gaming, besides controls are easy to learn also, just look at CNC 3 and BFME2.

RTS's on a PC is better. You are more accurate, way faster, easier to pump out units and command them than a noobstick.
