Nvidia Produced PS3 GPU Ready “End of 2005” News

nVidia CEO gets cosy with Morgan Stanley and reveals a finalised PS3 GPU expected by the end of 2005…


Work on the PlayStation3s Graphical Processing Unit is going well and should culminate in the finialised version of the nVidia built chip by the end of 2005 “ according to nVidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang.

At the end of last week, the nVidia boss and co-founder commented and reinforced the announcement that It's based on the next generation GPU technology I have every expectation that we will be able to see final production silicon later on in the year."

This news follows on from the announcement made by Sony and IBM in November that the CELL processor that will power the PS3 has now been built as a prototype. The PS3 isnt expected to hit the streets until 2006, so this projected timeline by the nVidia boss seems to support this.

Well have a lot more news on the PS3 over the coming year

It's Final Fantasy VII sequel. That date is the same time as scheduled Square Enix DKS3713 August 2nd/3rd.

this a good thing over 9 yrs it will happen folk wiil soon tire of wii's and the xbox(which is nearly all shooters, fun 4 a while, but ps3 does more in all ways
