Microsoft Taiwan blames limited selection of HD-DVD movies for the decision to hold back external drive launch...
Microsoft Taiwan has confirmed that the company will not be releasing the external HD-DVD drive for Xbox 360 in Asia.
The Redmond company's Taiwanese subsidiary announced that the decision was made because of the limited selection of HD-DVD movies available in the Asian territories - though the performance of the Xbox 360 at Asian retailers may prove to be a more likely reason.
The Xbox 360 HD-DVD external drive is set for a North American launch later in 2006; we'll have more news shortly...
