No Wireless Guitar For Xbox 360??? News
Jon Wilcox

Reports emerge that Red Octane's rocking sequel won't be featuring a wireless controller on Xbox 360...
When Red Octane confirmed last week that they'd be releasing a wireless guitar for Guitar Hero II on PlayStation2, a ripple of optimism emerged that the publisher would be following suit with the Xbox 360 version in 2007.
Such hopes were dashed today with a statement from Red Octane, confirming that only a wired guitar will be released for Xbox 360, due to Microsoft's proprietary wireless technology.
Speaking to eToychest, Red Octane's Brian Lam said:
"Their wireless technology is proprietary...so they aren't allowing 3rd party manufacturers to make anything at the moment....so until they allow us to do so, we aren't able to."
It would be somewhat ironic if a current-gen console like PlayStation2 gets the wireless guitar, whilst the futuristic, next-gen Xbox 360 is left with a wired one...Let's hope that Microsoft will change its mind in the next few months.
We'll have more news shortly...

I pay £69.99 (RRP) for Guitar Hero 2 on 360 (without wireless), and then probably have to pay another £40 to get the superior line-up of the original...
Activision should have had all the original tracks ... [ Read full comment... ]
