Sony confirms year old reports that the lower spec version will not feature in the UK...


Following confusions over the price of the PlayStation 3 surrounding the elevated rate of VAT across Ireland, Sony's 'Three Speech' blog has today reconfirmed that the lower spec 20GB version will not be made available across the UK.

Originally suggested during the PlayStation 3 unveiling at E3 in 2006, Three Speech suggests that the reasoning behind the move is due to retailer comments, who claim that demand for the 60GB version will far outstrip the lower spec.

Although price details will appear next week, all signs suggest a £425 price-point for the PS3 across the UK - hopefully all PS3 fans have been putting in the extra time at work!

i own a ps3. infact i just came off playing it. for methe ps3 is gd for about 1hour, than i get bored and dnt go on it agen until the next day. there is nothing dat can keep me interested in the ps3. the games and pure love e, online always glithche... [ Read full comment... ]

this a good thing over 9 yrs it will happen folk wiil soon tire of wii's and the xbox(which is nearly all shooters, fun 4 a while, but ps3 does more in all ways
