No Halo 2 Update On Feb 9th – Bungie News

After much debate on forums across the web, Bungie have finally confirmed that the anticipated ‘Feb 9th Update’ is a hoax…
Halo 2 conspiracy theorists can today be a little disheartened as it appears that one of the stories floating about the web, that is, February 9th 2005 will see the release of the first downloadable content for the game, is in fact a hoax.
For the last couple of months there have been rumours that the date appeared on completion of the game, something that has captured the attention of Halo 2 Live! gamers disappointed with never-ending Capture the Flag on Zanzibar (and Bill Murray thought that he had it bad in Groundhog Day.)
In their weekly news update, Bungie has now officially said that, âThe whole February 9th thing is bogus. Some kid claimed (in spite of evidence to the contrary) that halo 2's end credits featured Feb. 9th as a mysterious date. They did not in fact contain that date. Somebody simply made it up. Nothing particularly special is going to happen on February 9th.â
So thatâs the end of that or so it seems, weâll still be keeping an eye out for anything that does happen on Wednesday, and let you know.
