Nintendo of Europe Talks Square-Enix News

The first comments from Nintendo regarding Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance & Sword of Mana - no release dates though...

Nintendo or Europe today spoke out for the first time regarding the forthcoming release of Square-Enix titles on the GameCube and GameBoy Advance.

Unfortunately the European division declined to announce specific release dates for Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Sword Of Mana; claiming that European releases would follow shortly after the North American release scheduled later in the year.

Whilst weâre exited to see Final Fantasy back on a Nintendo format and have to say it looks far more intriguing then the pompous Playstation2 versions, itâs the unique control system thatâs floating our boat. Using up to four GBAâs, players can use these as enhanced controllers to dictate the action on screen, receive private information and communicate with fellow team members.

This is a feature weâve yet to see truly take off on the GameCube however weâre expecting numerous titles to make use of it at E3.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is an entirely new game for the GameBoy Advance, allowing up to four players to link together and embark on the quest. Having gone on sale alongside the launch of the GameBoy Advance SP, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance has sold more then 500,000 copies in its first two months of sale.

Sword of Mana is the latest title in the legendary RPG series, unfortunately specific details are being kept under control until its official unveiling at E3.

âTogether with the millions of FINAL FANTASY and MANA fans around the world, we are excited about the release of these three titles in North America and Europe,â said Yoichi Wada, president of Square Enix Co., Ltd. âNot only do these titles offer a unique gaming experience, but they will cultivate a new and broader audience for both Square Enix and Nintendo around the world.â

âThe FINAL FANTASY franchise is one of the most renowned and revered series in interactive entertainment,â says David Gosen, Managing Director of Nintendo of Europe. âThe wide range of innovations found in each of these games will attract both Nintendo fans and critics, continuing to cement our commitment to provide only the most forward-thinking products to consumers.â
