Four-player Metroid gaming heading to the small-screen(s) along with the GameCube...
Nintendo rolled out the old to introduce the new, utilising a number of familiar faces to launch the Nintendo DS to the gaming world.
First to well and truly wow the gaming world was the appearance of Samus Arran on the small-screen, well four Samus as it stands in Metroid Prime: Hunters.
Using a visual style surprisingly similar to the excellent Metroid Prime, the game uses the DS wireless capabilities to allow up to four players to try and destroy each other. Whilst the appeal of four-player Metroid gaming is a lure to strong to resist, the control system may initially take some time to get used to, with the stylus used on the bottom screen to rotate the camera, aim and fire or to transform into the morph-ball.
Sadly the game doesnât exactly make excellent use of the dual-screen set-up with the top screen merely used as a large radar; that said if the game is fun and the control system not too fiddly, this is certainly one title we canât wait to get our hands on.
