Nintendo Dates Family Ski For Europe News

Take your Balance Board to the slopes this summer with the European release of Namco's Family Ski...

Keen to follow up the success of Wii Fit and put all of those Balance Boards to good use, Nintendo today announced that NAMCO Bandai's Family Ski is heading to Europe on June 13th 2008.

Allowing up to four players to take to the slopes, Wii owning skiing enthusiasts can take to the piste all year round, competing in exhilarating races, downhill slaloms, and other tasks across the mountain.

Using a combination of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to push off with the ski-poles and negotiate the twists and turns of the slopes of the Happy Ski Resort, it's the optional integration of the Balance Board to literally put you on the skis that makes Family Ski so appealing - it's like the Wii Fit skiing sections but so much more.

With a variety of slopes ranging from the gentle incline of Rabbit Road to the steep heights of Lion Park, ski lifts allow you to move between courses while taking in the sights of the resorts. Skiing novices can also learn the tricks and the techniques at the Ski School, including basic skills such as Parallel Turns, Skating, and Crouching techniques.

Beyond the races and downhill slaloms, Family Ski also offers a number of challenges such as finding a lost child or delivering food to the resort, along with the option to take photos of your Miis on the slope.
