Nintendo To Launch New Handheld This Year??? News
More on this gameFollowing recent comments from Nintendo President Satoru Iwata and Senior Managing Director Shigeru Miyamoto, which proclaimed 2008 as "the year to challenge itself on the uses of the Nintendo DS", it had seemed that PDA functionality was on the cards for the popular portable.
Nested deep within a translated Q&A session taken from the hardware giant's April-December 2007 financial briefing however, lurked an intriguing question, with an answer that provided a further potential glimpse of what Nintendo's up to.
Responding to a question about DS units serving as tour-guides inside a theme park, Nintendo's response elicited a far grander vision for the handheld.
"More than 21 million units of "Nintendo DS" are played in Japan alone. Globally, the number exceeds 64 million. It is really something that a single-architecture product like "Nintendo DS" is now being used by so many people. We think it is now becoming possible that "Nintendo DS" may be used as a sort of social infrastructure. A number of companies are making a variety of proposals to Nintendo. We are reviewing its potential for ourselves too."
Which companies are Nintendo talking to? What's next in their plans for global domination the Nintendo way?? Can we play with a DS next time we visit Alton Towers??? We'll have to wait and see what the Red Social Revolution brings.

I once owned a DS lite and spent many hours playing it. I think it is ideal for the younger gaming generation although for me personally the psp is far better. I think in comparrison to the psp the nintendo ds is slightly overpriced.

I play pirated DS ROMs and I don't live in the US - and I know of at least one other person who does. Since Christmas 2006 I also calculate that I have spent approximately £700.00 on games software, £700.00 on hardware and about £200.00 in subs for a popular fantasy-based MMORPG. Hardly justification for illegally downloading games then, but, I would argue, with 6 family members actively gaming and pursuing an interest in some of the latest games technology, we ARE consumers and we do spend a high proportion of our income on games and consoles. And my family is not unique. My justification is that Microsoft would rather users pirated their software than that of their competitors. Although less disingenuously and more likely is the fact that I do it because I can. None of my other consoles are chipped and I buy legal copies of PC games and pay my subs to play online. I'm not naïve and I know Nintendo is a business and needs to make a profit to survive, but even though DS games are generally less expensive in comparison to other formats, they are not available at pocket money prices and, let's be honest, they are aimed primarily at kids. And hey, while I'm at it, I used to tape music in the 1980s - but the music industry is still going strong...

Right i will try 2 answer some of the questions! You don't need 2 of the same games to interact just put 1 on download play on the main screen and you just go on the bit u want 2 download on the other 1! You can play gameboy advanced games on the ds at the bottom there is a place where you put the gameboy advanced games! I hope i have helped some of you.

spectrobes = awful most games you can play like a bare bones version with just one copy and 2/3 DS's, some you need a copy of the game each. like mariokart has a few courses and only one character for each person if you're sharing a catridge, but its the full version if you have one each.. etc etc... same with mini games on super mario bros
