Nintendo release details on the titles available alongside the November North American launch…
As widely expected Nintendo today released specific information on the launch line-up set to coincide with the release of the Nintendo DS in North America on November 21st.
During the first 30 days of the release of the format, up to 10 to 12 titles will be released for the system at a retail price of $29.99, with claims that the library will swell to between 20 and 25 before the end of the first quarter 2005, of the 120+ titles believed to be in development across the world.
âDS provides the road map to the future of video games,â says Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of Americaâs executive vice president of sales & marketing. âThe overwhelming support of strong third-party titles, combined with Nintendoâs flagship franchise, makes this the strongest software support for any Nintendo system in more than a decade.â
The launch line-up consists of:
- Super Mario 64 DS (Nintendo)
- Madden NFL 2005 (EA)
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf (EA)
- The Urbz: Sims in the City (EA)
- Major Title (Activision)
- Ping Pals (THQ)
- Feel The Magic: XY/XX (SEGA)
- Rayman DS (Ubisoft)
- Asphalt GT (Ubisoft)
- Ridge Racer DS (NAMCO)
- Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits (NAMCO)
Those slightly disappointed by the lack of first-party titles available at launch, will be pleased to know that in the coming months after the launch, Nintendo will release the likes of Mario Kart, Metroid Prime: Hunters, WarioWare Inc DS, Animal crossing, Yoshiâs Touch & Go, Advance Wars DS and the new Super Mario Bros game.
In addition third-party publishers will add such titles as GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and Need for Speed: Underground from EA, Viewtiful Joe from Capcom, Bomberman from HudsonSoft, Frogger from Konami and a new Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle title from Square-Enix.
Weâll have more details soon.
