GTA IV same day as PS3, Alan Wake Xbox 360/PC exclusive, Forza 2, Fable 2 and Lumines Live...
The last of the three hardware companies to hold its E3 2006 conference, Microsoft has today announced the development of a number of games for the Xbox 360.
Long rumoured sequel Fable 2 from the newly acquired Lionhead Studios, has been confirmed for the next-gen machine, along with a second instalment from Team Forza in Forza Motorsport 2. Due for release in Winter 2006 Forza 2 will also benefit from the release of a wireless, force-feedback steering wheel on the day of release, creating the complete experience for racing buffs.
In addition, Q Entertainment will be bringing their hit puzzle title Lumines to Xbox 360 in the form of Lumines Live. The title from Tetsuya Mizuguchi will be available via the Xbox Live Arcade, with footage of the game in action played against Madonna's "Sorry" revealing an agreement with the music label Warner Brothers.
Perhaps one of the biggest titles is Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 4, which will be heading for the Xbox 360 on October 19th 2007. Although not exactly the exclusive release that Microsoft would have hoped for, they have entered into an agreement with Rockstar Games to bring downloadable content to the 360 version exclusively.
Despite its non-show at E3, Microsoft has confirmed publishing duties for Remedy's Alan Wake, tying the psychological-thriller as an Xbox 360 and Windows release exclusively.
With the conference recently concluded, TVG will have a complete report and video footage from the show shortly...
