European PS2 owners may finally get the chance to go online with the latest Pro Evo...

Following on from the recent announcement that Pro Evo fanatic, John Terry, would promote the latest title in the popular and critically acclaimed Pro Evolution Soccer series, trade reports have today revealed brief details on how itās Japanese incarnation is shaping up.

Retailers from Japan suggest that Winning Eleven 9 will go on-sale on August 4th 2005, although didnāt confirm whether or not an Xbox version is in development. Following the tradition of releasing an improved version of the same game before a brand new release in the series later in the year across Japan, Winning Eleven 9 looks likely to follow a similar line to Winning Eleven 8: Live-ware Evolution in offering online play - suggesting that Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will offer a similar service for European PS2 owners.

Of slightly less importance (but equally appreciated) is the reported inclusion of snow as a new weather condition, hopefully providing the scope for plenty of dirty tackles and red cards!

Currently Konami has yet to officially announce the release of Winning Eleven 9 or Pro Evolution Soccer 5, however weāre expecting such an announcement soon.
