Macromedia Flash and audio RSS the highlights of the latest firmware update...
Sony has released details of the latest firmware for PSP, version 2.70, which will become available for Japanese PSPs from tomorrow. Key highlights include the introduction of Macromedia's Flash Player, enabling gamers to see Flash built content, and the ability to access 'audio RSS feeds' (podcasting) and save them onto a Memory Stick Duo. In addition, the audio file extension ACC (used in Apple's iTunes software) will also become compatible with the device.
There's no news as to when version 2.70 will become available in either North America or Europe at the present time, with both sites currently displaying version 2.60, but hopefully it won't be too long it reaches the Western shores.
We'll have more news shortly...
