Viral marketing on Ubi's Tom Clancy websites point towards an announcement within days...

Now that it has total control over brand Clancy, it seems that Ubisoft's plan of depicting international terrorism, World War III, and coup d'etats in the Third World has shifted into top gear, with the publishing seemingly just days away from revealing the next instalment in one of its franchises.

Smoking debris is currently appearing on Ubisoft's Tom Clancy websites, which link through to the Ghost Recon website. Revealing a black box and several audio/video threads, some of which are still being 'decrypted' or 'repaired', the files play through excerpts of a mid-air refuelling that gets intercepted by Surface-to-Air Missiles, and attempts by support jets to take down the various bogies on their radar.

There seems to be continued speculation as to whether the soon-to-be-revealed title will be Ghost Recon 4 (or GRAW 3), or the first details on Tom Clancy's Air Combat. However, as the Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, and End War websites all link back to the Ubisoft's Ghost Recon pages, it does appear likely that the game will have more to do with the Ghosts than Air Combat - despite the mass of air chatter going on in during the audio/video files.

The countdown on the last piece of the puzzle suggests that an announcement could come as early as 3pm on April 2nd.

everyone is going to compare HAWX to ace combat-6, blazing angels 1-2, so here's a tip: make it nothing like any of the others... they are a joke, gamers aren't always stupid kids, we know when something isnt realistic.
