Activision confirms that the Tony Hawk’s creators are currently hard at work on a compelling new IP…
As previously suggested earlier in the year, Activision today confirmed that NeverSoft â“ the creators of the Tony Hawkâs series â“ have started development on a compelling new IP that claims to bring âNeverSoftâs world-renowned development prowess to a new genreâ.
The unnamed title is slated for release in the fiscal year 2006, alongside a new Tony Hawkâs title that NeverSoft will also develop for the same fiscal year.
"We are very excited about Neversoft's new game, which is not a sports title, and will continue expanding the studio's development resources," stated Ron Doornink, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. "Neversoft is one of the industry's premier development studios and among a handful of developers worldwide with a consistent track record of success. To date, the Tony Hawk games have sold in excess of $800 million over the life of the franchise. Since 1999, Neversoft has developed six games in the action-sports and action-adventure genres, each of which have been critically acclaimed, multi-million-unit selling titles."
