NeverSoft Gets Guitar Hero News

The Tony Hawk developer is confirmed as the new home for Guitar Hero.
Tony Hawk and Gun developer, Neversoft, has been given a new project to work on by parent company Activision - the rocking franchise, Guitar Hero.
Whilst no formal announcement has been made by Activision, the appearance of a holding page at Neversoft's website, advertising job vacancies for both Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero (coupled with the game's logo and a tagline stating quite bolding "Neversoft - developer of Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk's Project 8"), is more than enough confirmation that the move has been made.
The decision comes following Activision's acquisition of Guitar Hero publisher, Red Octane, and the acquisition of original developer Harmonix by MTV Networks. In a tangle of corporate politics, MTV Networks is in turn owned by Viacom, whose Chairman and Founder Sumner Redstone has a majority interest in rival publisher, Midway. His daughter, Shari, is on the Board of Directors at both Viacom (Non-Executive Vice Chair) and Midway (Vice Chairperson).
Activsion's decision now means that the successful series will be developed and published internally.
