EA confirms new Need for Speed leaving no format untouched...
First sighted well over a year ago, EA today announced the development of Need for Speed: Most Wanted for the Playstation2, Xbox, GameCube, PC, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP and a currently unconfirmed Next-Gen version â“ leaving us to question whereâs the N-Gage port?
"Out-race your opponents, evade cops and exploit the open world in Need for Speed Most Wanted; street racing doesn't get any better than this," said Larry LaPierre, senior producer, EA Canada. "Players instantly will feel the thrill of the ride as they hit the streets in an open world environment where drivers can tune their cars to compete against any class of vehicles or use their wits to out-fox the law to satisfy their need for speed."
Marking a return to previous elements in the series, Most Wanted combines the thrills of illicit street racing and tuner customisations of the âUndergroundâ series, with âHot Pursuitâ like police pursuits and Hollywood styled chase sequences, challenging players to become the most notorious and elusive street racer in town.
Players are challenged to build up their Rap Sheet and earn Street Cred to move their way up the Black List and become the most wanted man on the streets. The game promises open-ended courses in a dynamic world, along with new gameplay and customisation options.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted is currently in development at EA Canada for a Q4 2005 release; weâll have more information and a closer look very soon.
