Despite the fact that European PlayStation2 owners are still a couple of weeks away from getting their hands on the first title, Namco Bandai Games of America has today confirmed that Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 will be heading to North America towards the end of the summer.

Continuing the story of the young ninja, Uzumaki Chronicles 2 follows the story of Naruto and the rest of the Hidden Leaf Genin as they battle against the Shirogane Clan, a powerful organisation which has returned to collect a series of orbs so it can achieve unleash a 'mechanical terror'. The game will feature a number of modes besides the Story Mode, a selection of characters, and character customisation options.

"In response to the overwhelming success, we felt compelled to give fans a superior sequel to NARUTO: Uzumaki Chronicles by digging deeper into the series; allowing gamers to become further engulfed into the ninja lifestyle," said Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and COO at NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc, "NARUTO: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 will deliver the excitement of ninja combat on a massive scale while remaining true to the unique franchise."

The European arm of Namco Bandai Games are yet to announce a European release date for the title, though the original Uzumaki Chronicles will be arriving over here in May.
