Namco Formally Announces Ace Combat Zero News

The prequel to Ace Combat 5 set to hit North America in 2006; European release date to announced in the future...
Although the game was on show at the recently held Tokyo Game Show, Namco has today formally announced the development of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War on PlayStation2. The game, which takes place fifteen years before the events described in Ace Combat 5, will be released in North America in 2006 with Namco confirming that the game will also be heading over to European shores also.
Players will take the skies as a mercenary pilot for the country of Ustio and engage in dogfights throughout the game with enemies featuring their own battle tactics and squadrons, and will fly in series of authentically replicated real-world fighters.
Yoshi Niki, Business Unit Director at Namco Hometek Inc. said "Players can once again be ace pilots in Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War by flying authentic aircraft against rival pilots that are more cunning than everâ¦The game's storyline will add insight into some of the series' greatest mysteries and the new gameplay elements will keep players strapped into their virtual cockpits for hours."
