Online specialists become the latest to license Epic’s next-gen technology...
Leading online specialist, NCSoft, today confirmed that it has entered into an agreement with Epic Games to license the Unreal Engine 3 for future development.
NCSoft have previously utilized Unreal technology to power the likes of Lineage II, and becomes the latest in a long list to adopt Epicâs technology for next-gen development.
âWe have been very pleased with the support and technology Epic has provided in the past,â said Harry Kim , Chief Strategic Officer of NCsoft . âWe are especially excited to be working with Unreal Engine 3. The new tools, technology and content pipeline will allow us to achieve stunning, next-generation, results in the least amount of time possible.â
âNCsoft was the first company to use Unreal Engine in a massively-multiplayer online role-playing game and they did a fantastic job making us extremely proud.â said Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games. âWeâre thrilled to see them licensing the latest Unreal Engine 3 technology and we canât wait to see the results.â
