NCSoft Announce City Of Heroes Issue #5 News

By Jon Wilcox on 04/07/2005 The Forest of Dread arrives in the super-powered MMORPG in August

City of Heroes publisher NCSoft has today announced that the next update for the superhero MMORPG, Issue #5: Forest of Dread, will become available for download in August 2005.

The new ‘Issue’ is set to include a whole new zone for gamers to explore called Croatoa, which harbours a range of new enemies including Fir Bolg and Tuatha de Dannan. A new Task Force will be available to play in Croatoa, and the update will also feature two new power sets in Archery and Sonics, which will be available to Defenders, Blasters and Controllers. Finally, new badges and character customisations will feature in Forest of Dread – in true City of Heroes tradition.

"With our first Super Summer Slam Spectacular well underway, this is shaping up as a great summer for City of Heroes players," says Stephen Reid, Content and Community Manager, NCsoft Europe. "With regular activities and events, and new content appearing on a regular basis, City of Heroes provides for its devoted community like few other games."

We’ll have an exact date for the release of Issue #5: Forest of Dread shortly...

I really don't understand why dark defenders, dark scrappers and not dark dominators, too bad

Personaly I'm a flavor player. I dont care what the primaries and secondaries are but it would be nice if each primary for an AT had a secondary that made sense with it. Stone for Doms, fine but what the heck do you match to it? Also I would have loved to have seen Doms get Illusion control. The idea of trickery and false images just seems more a senaky vilian thing to me.

If a Brute can have Energy Melee, i don't understand why scrappers cannot. i will say though that fire shield with spines will be nasty for PvE, but i prefer PvP. Meh Corrupters getting Storm and Controllers getting Themal is good though

This is just another screw over for villains tbh. I am a pvp'r at heart andtosay. The heroes do get itall. Villains are good atpvp but its a lotharder for villains than it is for heroes. Blasters just own anything and if the new VEAT's are a conter-mneasure against blasters i'll be EXTREMLY happy. But such luck isn't to be had it would seem.
