Halo 3 will pick up where Halo 2 left off. The Master Chief is returning to Earth to finish the fight. The Covenant occupation of Earth has uncovered a massive and ancient object beneath the African sands - an object who's secrets have yet to be revealed. Earth's forces are battered and beaten. The Master Chief's AI companion Cortana is still trapped in the clutches of the Gravemind - a horrifying Flood intelligence, and a civil war is raging in the heart of the Covenant.

Mysterious Master Chief Footage News

Scrap heap, pre-rendered footage or Halo 3, you tell us...


A mysterious short cinematic depicting the Master Chief walking purposefully through a generic sci-fi corridor has been doing the rounds lately, prompting many to excitedly suggest itās the first footage from Halo 3.

Thereās no doubt that the Master Chief packs far more detail then even the theatrical trailers for Halo 2 and the lighting is undeniably impressive; however itās worth remembering that a lot of content was cut from the Master Chiefās second outing and there's always the chance it's just pre-rendered footage from before - at least it gives an indication of what to expect, if and when the Master Chief graces the 360.

An alternative theory suggests it's a sequence from Dead or Alive 4 after recent confirmation that a female Spartan would feature in Tecmoās forthcoming Xbox 360 beat-em-up.
